WOOL SALES.

Auckland, Wednesday 7 jxm. Alfred Bucklaod held another wool sale to-day. 200 bales were catalogued. There was again a great cause for complaint with respect to the .breeding of wool, and Mr Joseph Osborne, probably the most --experienced stapler in the Colony, states that the popular system ot breeding has resulted in reducing provincial wool to a species of hair unsuitable for any purpose where first class wool is required. He says that nothing but a judicious mixture of Cotswold ewes crossed by a proper class of xanii will iave our wool industry.

The Captain of the Vasco de Gama pleaded guilty at the Police Court to a charge of refusing to giro the pilot command of his vessel last trip. He apologised a.nd w»sfinel one shilling and costs.
