Monday Evening. Messrs Hunter and Nolans "Weekly Report : Horses : There has been nothing very noteworthy* About the average number were entered for disposal by Auction. No really good horses offered, but those of a moderately good stamp found ready sale. We quote hacks from £10 5i to £12 10s; lightharness horses, from £13 5s to £19 ; heavy draughts, £45 to £60. Cattle : There has been a very good supply, and the demand has been spirited. Dairy cows are lower in value, but really good animals still command attention, and the decline in price is not nearly so perceptible as is the case with inferior animals. The stores expected from. Wangarei arrived too late for the Newmarket sale, but there is a very fair muster from the coast and the neighbourhood, and prices were fully sustained, and in many instances an advance noted. There waB a very good display of fat beasts, which reflected great credit on the grazier ; the demand was spirited, and prices for top beasts advanced 5s per 100 lbs, At Waiuku, there was an increased muster as compared with last quarterly sale. The demand was also better, and in mast instances abou*. Newmarket rates were obtained. Sheep : There was a very good muster for disposal by auction on Tuesday. The demand was good, anl an advance on last week* prices was obtained. "We quote store ewes with lambs at side 25s per pair ; fat sheep, 2s 6d to 2s lOd per 81bs ; fat lambs were very plentiful at from Us to 17s. Pigs : Hardly any yarded.
