The negociations for compromise between the Government and the Opposition. wiiich followed upon moving an adjournment on Friday night, completely broke down, the Government supporters refusing- to entertain any terniß short of immediate abolition. An unseemly obstructive struggle will probably bo renewed to-morrow. Political rumours are dead. Everyone is wondering what will be tho end of it all, and the chief actors probably know least of all.
