ACCLIMATIZATION SOCIETY AT CAMBRIDGE.

You are probably aware that a branch of the Auckland Acolimitization Society exists at t iis place. It was formed about a year a^o, and now nnmben sornp twenty-four members Its objects are to assist the pareut Society in its efforts to further accliuiLtzation, and to introduce into the Waikat > such things as can be procu ed from the Society. It mounted up high, and sang till out of si.'ht. Some -t irlings have b en liber ted on M r Reynold's farm, but were absent for s >rae ti ne. Th«y have now returned and nre doiuj well. Thirty-six different si>ecie« of forest trees, sent up by the Society, were diatribu'ed am mgst tha settlers last year, and more this y^nr. About three weeks ago 21 CMiformau qu «ils were se-it up with a promise of more. One lot of trout fish wus forwirde t from Auckland, but out of 5 dozen only 6 fi*b are living. M> Runciman, the hon.
