GOOD TEMPLARY AT HAMILTON.
At the usual weekly meeting of the Hope of Waikato Lodge, 1.0.G.-T., on Thursday, the Committee appointed to consider the various sites offered for a publio hall brought up their report. The brethren then went into Committee of the whole to discuss the report, and it was adopted. We understand that a most advantageous site has been selected, upon which a hall will be erected (JO feet by 30, a portion being set apart as a public librajy, xind reading-room, and above this there will be a gallery, the floor of which will be deadened to prevent the noise being heard below. The lodge also decided to form a Company, with a capital of <£600, in £1 shares, 2s 6d io be paid on application, 2s 6d on allotment, and 2s 6d per share monthly. Provisional Directors were appointed, and empowered to form the company and take preliminary steps for the erection of the building. The necessary arrangements for the building of a hall and reading-room have now been successfully completed, and, in the course of a few months, the institution will be an accomplished fact. The lodge also appointed a committee to prepare a course of lectures on Good Ternplary, and its objects, and another to revise the bye-laws. It was announced during the evening that the Executive of the Grand Lodge, for the North Island has arranged to occupy ono page of the Auckland " Weekly News' every Saturday, with matter of special interest to Good Templars, which wi'l also appear in the " Ijailv Southern (Jnoss " of the same date. The ihvst i&me under this system will commence on September 4, and a representative is to be appointed in every Lodge connected with the Order to communicate ail local matters of interest to the Editors of the Tomplar column. The Provisional Directors met last evening and transacted further business.
