Auckland, Monday morning. The s.B. Macgregor arrived on Saturday from San Francisco but the news is mostly anticipated by cable. A great calamity has occurred in Iceland, owing to a volcanic eruption. Various parts of the island were rent open. Ten thousand people were rendered homeless. Many were killed. Full details of t^e floods in France shew them to be of a terrible character. Disastrous floods also occurred in England and Wales. — Moody aud Sankey havo bid farewell to England at h great gathering, at which seven hundred clergymen were present. — Twelve thousand people attended a meeting in Hyde Paik to protest against the gr.uit to defray the expenses of the Prince of Wales's trip to India.
