Edgeoumbe had commenced business on credit, and bad increased his over-draft at the Bank of New Zealand. It was pressure on that account that caused the meeting of oreditors. During the two years he carried on business he had realized profit to the amount of .£360. The book debts amount to £1800, which are pronounced good. Messrs Owen and Graham, the largest creditors, said they would not give mbre than 12s 6d in the pound for the estate. Mr Lewis thought that if Mr Eagecumbe were given time he would pay 20s in the pound. After considerable discusssion it was agreed that if Edgecumbe could nob realize more than 15* in the pound, the estate should be assigned over to trustees, with power to sell back to Edgecumbe, if desirable ; otherwise to realize the estate to the best advantage. Messrs McOosh Clark, Chambers, and Heather were appointed trustees.
