Persons generally are most indiscreet in the use of medicines, and more especially in the use of Cathartics or Purging agents. It is a well-known fact that the indiscriminate use of these purgative medicines in such quantities often develops latent weakness in the form of Hcemmorboide or Piles, and be it remembered that the remedies — blazoned all over the world as curing every disease— too often lay the germs of disease, of wasting and diminished nervous ( energy and gradual decay. The pills prepared by «T. C. Sharland, if taker! for Indigestion or Irregularities of the Liver, should be administered in doses one pill every alternate night for a week or two ; if as a purgative, two at bed time occasionally ; if an active purgative be indicated, a eaiine aperient should be taken early in the morning following the pills, — aSeldlitz Powdar or a third of an ounce of Epsom Salts in a little warm water.
