To the Editor of the Waikato Times Sir, — As the proceedings of the late election were carried on (to use a- very mild term) in a very^ singular manner,^^ink, in jtatic^to all concerned,^ the Government shWld insttau\ inquiry, and not throwVthe trouble artdr expense on a defeated candidate, who came forward not to serve himself, but to serve the public at much personal sacrifice and inconvenience. There is another circumstance which requires an explanation, that is, why after the delay for the purpose of signing the ballot papers, the deputy officer for Ohaupo was sent away on a fool's errand without his papers being signed at all. The said officer can confirm my statement.
