CAMBRIDGE.— JUNE 2.
NATIONAL HOTEL. A renewal of the license for this hotel was applied for by Messrs W. Laird and E,. Kirkwood. Mr Hay appeared for the application, and stated that Mr Kirkwood was not licensed at last Licensing Meeting, but no doubt he would be well and favourably remembered as having been a former landlord of this hotel. The application was granted.
MASONIC HOTEL. Mr Hewitt applied for renewal of license. The Chairman observed that at last meeting the commissioners expressed their opinion that three houses were not necessary in Cambridge, but that in the faje of the police report they did not see why this license should not be granted. Sergeant Chitty, on being referred to by the Court, stated that Mr Hewitt did what he could to keep his house orderly, but the class of people frequenting it were too rough. DUKE OP CAMBRIDGE HOTEL. Mr W. Walker applied for a renewal of his license for this hotel. Police report favourable. No opposition. Application granted.
