The political uneasiness in consequence of the warlike reports is subsiding. Mr Disraeli announced in the Commons that the Balgium difficulty is settled, but that if the independence or neutrality of Belgium is threatened the Government would meet parliament. The ChXrtodjb^of the Exchequer estimates the revenue for Isb.e doniing year at twenty-five millions eighty-five thousand. The estimated expenditure will leava^su^plus of £417,000. The brW^tfs^icenses and the stamp taxes will be readjusted^© reduce the surplus. The petition to the Commons censuring the Judges in the Tichborne case for unfairness, and demanding their impeachment has been rejected. Germany denies any desire of interfering with the press laws of Belgium. The Belgium Parliament has passed a law abrogating the privileges of Eoman Catholic Bishops, in refusing to conform to civil laws.
