Beforo Mb Montgomery (Clerk). Mr Whittiker, before the commencement of proceedings, on behalf of the Bar, briefly complimented Mr Montgomery upon the efficient manner he had performed the duties of clerk to the Resident Magistrate's Court, and expressed his conviction that lie would fulfil those which would devolve upon him in connection with the District Court in an equally satisfactory manner. He concluded by congratulating Mr Montgomery upon his attainment of the more exalted position. Mr Montgomery briefly thanked the learned counsel.

IN RE. JOHN SIMPSON. Mr WhittaUer applied that John Simpson be adjudged a bankrupt. Granted. This being the only cas.e the Court then rose.
