The above Department atlords the following ararioprr which are secured by special Acts of Legislature, over an/ other office in the Colony :— 1. All policy holders participate in the profits of the Department. 2. The Premiums are lower by at least 7e (seven shilling,.) per cent, than those of any other office. 3. The Security is infinitely superior to that of any p"ivate office, the conyhdatedyrevenue of tht colony; being available for amy deficjrocy. 4. The whole of the nCjnrypjßa in Premiums is retained in the colony, whereas in private ogpmrttT much capital is sent to loreigtt |mli " 6. Policies fopwif^-^riamily^nre 1 absolutely protected 6. No Policy is forfeited Jyaon- payment of Premium's after first year, so lodjmis surrender value will insure' tho amount. W J • For example, a person 40, insured under a Policy on which tive annual payments had been made, would not forfeit it on account ot non-payment of Premiums until the expiration of tive years and eighty-aix days irom uate of default, provided that the other conditions of the Policy had not been violated, and it could be renewed at any time within euch term, on paying up arrears with linerci-t ; or it it became a claim witlnn that time, the Policy would bs paid, less arrears with interest.
