CHURCH OF ENGLAND MEETING, HAMILTON.
A meeting of the members of the Church was held yesterday afternoon, at the Church — the Right Rev the Bishop in the chaii\. Drawing* of a church at Gisborne were submitted to the meeting for approval. Mr Holloway moved and Mr Ls Quesne seconded, — "That this meeting, approves genei-ally ot the drawings of Gisborae Church now Bubmit cd." — Car tied. Mr Hammond moved and Mr Danvers seconded, — "That Mr Kiels be communicated with by the Church Committee, who shall request him to make ceriain alterations, specified by them, to the plan referred to in the first resolution." --Cirried. The Bishop was asked, by Mr Lloyd whether the olprgyman of the district was a member of the Church Committee. H« replied that the clergyman was the Chairman of the Committee, and that no meeting should be called without the approval of the clergyman. Mr Seddon resigned his office as a member of the conmittee, and Mr Le Quesne was elected in his place. It was proposed by Mr Himmond and seconded by Mr Smith, — " That the Committee be authorised to call for tenders for the erection of a new church." — Carried: It was proposed by Mr Hunt and seconded by Mr Vialou, — " That a Committee be appointed to make collections for a new. church consisting of Messrs Leslie, Seddon, Le Quesne, Hammond, Lloyd, and Cox, with permission to add to their number." —Carried It was estimated that there would' be £400 in hand after the disposal of the building and the receipt of anticipated contributions from the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel. Tbe estimated cost of the Church *as £700, thus £300 would remain- to be -made up by contributions, ami to be borrowed. •
