NGARUWAHIA REGATTA.

There was a good attendance of people to witness | the Regatta go.t up to celebrate E»ster Monday. The day was splendid. Unfortunately the. McG-uire, in the ' Fairy,' won by half a , length. Wentworth, in tho ' Sandfly,' second. The sports were finished up with a Duck Hunt, which caused the usual amount of mirth. We trust that the Ngaruawrhia people will not allow the interest in the fine, sport of rowing to flag ; they have a river at tkeir doora not to be surpassed in the woild. It would\be well if a Club were started in Hamilton ; they could pull on the Lake. Is there nobody in that neighborhood with sufficient love for the old sport, and energy to work the young bloods up to .the mack.
