To-day, tho members of' the bar bid a formal farewell to Sir George Arney. Mr Whitaker, as the senior member, made a complementry speech. At the police court to-day Robert Leary and James l^ieholls were committed for trial for stealing £6 from the person of James Murphy. lv. the. .case, of Hoffman v. "Macffarlane, Sir G k Arney gave, judgment for defendant. This was an action by plaintiff to recover a piano sold on the terms of monthly payments, the instrument having 'been seized 'by defendant as a provisional trustee in the estate of Burnside/of Papatoitei. Mr Byron, M.P.C. left by the Hero to-day. .
