Te Awanmtu. Wednesday. There is a lar<re attendance at the show. The weather is beautiful. The number of exhibits is not great, but the quality equal to anything in the province. The following are the prize winners :—: — Shorthorn bull ; Gubbins, Ist ; Ramsay, 2nd Hereford bull : J-.H. Scott. Ist; Germann, 2nd Bull under two year§ : Taylor Shorthorn Cow ; Gußbins, Ist ; Rioketts, 2nd Hereford cow : j^cotjfc, Ist; Bruce, 2nd Heifer, two to t^&jrears : Ricketts, Ist ; Gubbins, 2nd ; Storey highly .commended Heifer, 1 to 2 years : Ramsay, 1 ; Fleming, 2 Calf under one year : Gubbins, 1 ; Storey, 2 Fat ox : Seccombe, 1, and highly commended Fat cow : Gubbins, 1 Dairy cow ; Storey, 1 ; Brace, 2, The Maoris showed some excellent wheat, potatoes, and grass seed. The wheat was very much admired by the judges. It was grown principally at Ivopua. Auckland, Wednesday. St Patrick's Day hay been celebrated by the Hibernian Society's sports at Ellerslie, which were largely attended. The Horticultural Show to-day was superior to any of late years. The fruit remarked as being very good. The East Tamaki races have been a great success. Tt has been arranged that Sir George Grey will address the Thames electors on Friday. Ohinemuri pigeongrams to-day state that the prospectors have not yet cut the reef. A dispute has arisen between Coleman and Thorp's parties te terms of amalgamation between then). The miners complain of the slow prosecution of operations on the prospectors claim.
