Sir,-— Now that it seems to^-d«cidecLto hold a Cattle Show at Te Awaniutu agam this year, it may not be out of place to recur again to the old question of an United Waikato Show. We have" now in the Waikato the best entire draught horses in the province. We have also I suppose the best bulls and if we have not the best sheep, we have some that would take a lot of beating. Under these circumstances why should we not have the best shows 1 believe it is possible and I belie\ c too that it would be very advantageous to the district, by inducing a greater attention to breeding, and by showing us where we ought to get the best change of blood. I imagine howeverthat noone will question theadvantage of it. Probably more would question its possibility. Well it seems the two districts will not agree to unite at a central place, nor do they seem willing to agree as to the season. But why should they not agree' to an altt mate show. Say the Horotiu takes it in hand one year »nd arranges itß own time and place, the next year the Wai#^dsfc\ the same each district helping the other a*^ar asTpo^sible. It is too late this year to do anything*S»^ji regular manner, but let Hamilton and CanVbridg^e go in for 'helping Te Awamutu to get up a good t^iow, both by,gi\ing su lnscriptions and by exhibiting stock as far as possible, and I belie\e that if this is done cordially, Te' Awaruutikwill willingly do the same for the Horotui next spring, if that is the season decided on. Sufficient time has s>mely now elapsed for any hasty ietling to sutsule, and tin success of the Te Awamutu shows may well have soothed Te Awamutu piide, as well as haie shown that a really United Show might be a really creditable one.
