The Waikato Times.

The annual meeting of the members'and supporters of the Church of England was held in thp church on Sunday evening after service. The Rev. F. 0. £lo}d occupied the chair. There wis ouly a moderate attendance at the meeting. Mr Lloyd briefly addressed the meeting, he said that he could but express satisfaction at the progress church work had made in the district during the pist y«ar. Mr. "Bj ron the Treasurer, read a statement of accounts, and Messrs Hume and Giffhe. "were appointed to axiditthem previous tfc their being handed over to the new committee. jThe next business was the election of Churchwardens for the current year. The Rev. F. C. Lloyd nominated Mr W. N, S .Messrs Hume, and Salmon were elected by the meeting. Messis Hume snd Giftney were elected .auditors for the current year. The following resolution was proposed by Mr Byron, " This meeting \iew« with very great regret the unavoidable niisoinderbtanding which prevented the church being placed at the disposal of the Presbyterians on Sun■day last." The lesolution was seconded by Mr Giffney and carried unanimously. Mr Hume undertook to forward a copy of the resolution to the Rev Mr Mason who on account oi the misunderstand, ing was unable to conduct service in the church (Considerable discussion arose as to whether the <Church should be repaired or a new one built, eventually on the motion of Mr Hume seconded by Mr Oiffney, it w?«s decided to repair £he present edifice. Scott, Esq. hi the chair, with the object of protesting the district of Paterangi as proclaims I, and -to represent to the authorities the necesaity of amending the same, in order to include Paterangi proper.
