THE MEASLES EPIDEMIC.
The following letter appeared in a recent number of the Ota^o Witness-. — _ < | Sir^— Tliiewide spTeacTpre valence of th itf disorder lat pr^ent in tue Province lbveiy much wjt>e la* i unuted, hundreds of children being pres from attending school, ,mcl in too mmy instances' case^ have ended fatally. Measles is one of those disease'.vhich is intended by nature to be a m^d one ; bu A'om want of attention and frequently iin, jrjuo ■ treatment principally among the working clisaes ;his disease ruas a c mrs j atten le I with tnucli fatally. It is therefore most* desirable that a know laJge of the bsht remedies to be adopte4 when, children and adults are attacked should be as extensively circulated aa possible througho&t the Province. From a periodical late^ perused it is manifestly certain that the homeopathic treatment of this disease is undoubtedly the most efficacious, there being rarely or never any case ending fatal. y, if taken in time, when treated by the following homeopathic m dicine :—: — 1. Concerning them, Dr Dalzell, Malvorn, asserts :—": — " I have never had a death from measles under homeopathic treatment. The action of pulsatilla and aconite is most satisfactory, and infinitely preferable to the co >lin ; salines and mild aperients, which o "ten contribute towards a faia! result." - D/ Moore, of Liverpool, states :—": — " <ia,ving practised homeopathy for a q-mrter of a century, I cumjt call to mind a death from measles where it had be^n \i.i' r ler homeop ithij treatment." Dr Usshor, Wdiidsvro •fi, says, " Fatality in nvasles is a ra,re event with' homeopathic man. . ] have not s^en one since I ad jpted similia simi/ibus cwaniu>- for a iruii\ o>ie iajre quotation from Dr Hale, Rochdale, who states, " Daring the thirty-three years I have treated caaes of measles, I don't recollect in having loht one." There is similar testimony from the reports of numerous homeopathic dis | >ensaiies and hospitals in Europe and £ merica, that^he medicines mentioned are infallible. These medicines ar^jprocurable in this Province, either in the liquid stateVtinctureH) or in pilules (solid). Parents whose children have not yet had the measles, shwHd immeuately obtain a supply ; and if administered •according to the directions given they need have no dr^aS of 'the visitation of the measles into their families.
