A MATCH betwof-u the two companies named above was plajed in Mr Engall's paddock, near Taupiri, on Saturday last, and, as will bo seen by the scores, the victory remained with, the visiting team, with four wicketa to spare. The fielding of No. 3 was better than the others, \vho, however, shaped very well with the bat in the second inninga. Foi Taupiri — Taylor, SLssons, Clare, and Stansfield scored well ; and Sandes, Gallery, and Carleton did most for their side. The bowling was fair all round. Refreshments were provided by the Taupiri men, and were much in request, the heat being intense all the afternoon. Subjoined are the scores : —
