Coromandel, Saturday. It is understood that arrangements have been completed for incorporating the two local papers — one only to be issued in future, and of which Mr Yon Stunner will be editor. Mr Yon Stunner has made his mark here ; and always manages to float to the top. lam afraid the two papers cannot have paid the proprietary ; and for the peace and goodwill of the inhabitants here it is well that one should die.
Wellington, Saturday. The Dunedin Chronicle states that Mr Vogel did sell £300,000 short dated debentures in Sydney. This contradicts previous assertions in private letters from Sydney that he tried to sell them and failed. The Guaidicuts source of information is probably the hon. Mr Reynolds, \s\\o is now in Dunedin. Wellington Derby : distance, one mile and a half. There were seven entries. After several false starts, Ngaro went off with the lead, Remnant second, imd Guy third, Nanakea not moving until 100 yaids had been gone. ISTanakea turned rusty after half a mile, and pulled up. Ngavo kept the lead, Remnant and tjuy running neck and neck. This position wa& maintained until they arm ed at the straight run home, when Ngaro won by a couple of lengths. Guy Fawkes occupied the second place by a length, Remnant appeared to be well held. Time, 2 mm. 55 sees.
