Auckland, Monday. Cecilia Allen was accused of wilfully setting fire to Mr Howard's house at the North "Shore. The sergeant-major deposed that she confessed to committing the crime, after having made several previous attempts. She was remanded until Monday, when a second charge will be heard. Dunedin, Monday. At an adjourned meeting of the Jockey Club held on Saturday night last it was decided to disqualify Mabel, The case Canning v. Mabel's disqualification is to last for ever. The question of the disqualification of Captain Hutchcson is left open in case further evidence should be obtained.
