The apnioaches aie now peifectly safe, and the stockyards of such a character that cattle may be yaided without fear of loss. Every assistance ia afforded settlers crossing cattle, &c.

" Derby " only started once for the Flemington Stakes Ist January, 1869, when he fell (stopping his racing career,) while running well up with tho lead'iig horse.
