Tho Coronet from Tahiti brings intelli ;ene ' that two American sliips — one the Mogul, the other name unknown —were burned to the waters edge in the Pacific. The calamities as reported present very extraordinary features ; both vessels belonged to the same American firm, and were loaded with coal, bound from Liverpool to San Francisco. The vessels were burned within a day or two of each other, and the crews found shelter at Marquess Island. All hands of the Mogul were nearly twenty days in open boats. The captain, mate, and one boat's crew of the other vessel were lost, but the second mate brought the otheu crew safely to Marquesas Island after twenty two days privation. During that time the onjy reckonings kept were by small pieces of carbboard, on Avhich the course was marked. The vessels when burnt were nearly 2000 miles from land, The first crew arrived at Tahite the same day as the Cornet, and the last one about seven days atforwards.
