A short timo ago, " the Thames Advn User published what was purported to be a telegram from the Native Minister to the Hon 0' Rorko regarding the excit'ineut about the opening of Obincmuri) and which set forth that Kir Donald MoLcari re-
<;uestod the Hon O'ftorko to induce the editors of paper;? to write against the agitation," and concluded thus : "The Government do not want the country to bo opened." Mr J. Mackay, jun, publishes the true copy of the original telegram, shotting that the telegram published by the ridvcrtlser was for the most part a fabrication. Mr Mackay also publishes two letters to the Premier, from Thomas Wilson, the person who sjid he found the telegram, in which he threatened to publish tho telegram unless provided with a " billet." Mr Mackay accuses the Advertiser of publishing insinuations regarding his conduct in certain land transactions which have no foundation.
