WELLINGTON. Friday,
On the House meeting to-day, Mr Fitzherbert gave notice of motion that he would, when the House went into a Committee of Supply, move a x*esolution to the effect that no attempt should be made to cany out any organic motion involving Central and beauraucratic authority, without the opinion of the people being taken upon it, and that an address be presented- to His Excellency the Governor, praying him to dissolve the present Parliament. This announcement was received with loud applause. Mr O'Rorke explained that his absence from the division was owing to his not anticipating the conclusion of the debate so early, and that he intended ■ to vote against the resolutions. Messrs Harrison and White made similar explanations. They stated the door was shut when tliey arrived. Mr Wai of. said he intended to vote for the resolutions, but w.is late arriving. The Premier announced that the Government would not proceed with the Pacific Islands Bill, and the Qualification Election Bill was also withdrawn, although the Premier intimated that had there been time, the Governmenl would have pushed the bill through, as they approved of it. Mosrs Wales and Tribe expressed regret because the bill was not proceeded with. The Volunteer Act Amendment Bill was read a second time. It enables "Volunteers tj acquiie land for rifle or artillery practise. A bill was brought down* granting an allowance to Mr Wilson Gray, the Government intend giving him a year's leave of absence on full pay. The committee of enquiry have declared Mr Yon der Heyde's election void. A new wiit is issued. Mr Yon der Heyde has gone North this afternoon.
