RIFLE MATCH.
The flrst team thus winning the match by 25 points. The number of shots was seven at each range. The weather was most unpropitions, a strong fitful wind was blowing from the left front accompanied at times with rain. The winning team on a former occasion made an aggregate of 2 17 points, of which Sub-Lieut Coleman contributed 73, a score which has seldom been made in New Zealand. In the evening the team, with their markers, dined together at the Royal Hotel. Captain McDonald occupied the chair, and Lieutenant Coates the -vice-choir, 'lhe usual loyal and patriotic toasts were gnen iiom the chair and heartily drunk. Songs and speeches followed. The party did not break up till nearly midnight.
