CORRESPONDENCE.

[We do not necessarily endorse the opinions expressed by our correspondents.] — _ (To the Editor of the Waikato Times.) Sir,— l see in your leading article of the lltli inst, you require lime in the Waikato, and invite information relative to procuring the finmo. Ifc is absurd to think of getting lime from Auckland, lor I hope the duy is not fur distant when it will be one of the products that will be exported by rail to Auckland. Stone lime, superior to any in Auckland, can catily be dclivored on the banks. of the Waipa at a less cost I should my, than you would pay for an inferior article in Auckland. Some few yearn sinco I procured icveial samples of limentone for Captain Young from different places, and he fixed on the one on the Waipa side of tbo range of hills that separates us frbm the "Wnipa river, where the samo kilns Ijo used are still to be seen, with-plonty of timber alongside for burning the stone, at well as cool no great distonoe off I have.often^wondored, that no enterprising person lias not long ere this secured this spot and commenced operation*. A sledge road to'the HVer would cost very little, and being all down hill, a good team of bullucks would make two trips I a dny. Tho stoiio is also invaluable for building nnd a j vnriH.y oi ol her purposes. If ever tho long talked of Raglan and Waipa road becomes a reality, resources lying closo 1o your doors will be dorolopcd, the ex pen no of which at present to get from Auckland make them almost prohibitory.— I am, &c, T. B. Hill. Aotea, July 15, 1874. ,
