Mr Byron moved an address to tho Superintendent,, requesting him to call attention to tbo advisability of alienating lot Xo. 220, parish of Punui, from its present dedication to a school reserve. Mr Shepherd moved an address to tbo Superintendent requesting that a not exceeding £200 bo expended out of the vote for Roads and Works north of Auckland in making a road from Denbam's line, near Oldfields farm, to I lie new road in course of formation from Mahurangi to PorL Albert. Agreed to. Mr Wilson moicd an address for £50 as a reward for a piyable bed of coal near the harbor of Raglan. Mr Philips moved that the sum be £100. The amendment was agreed to. Tlio i o 'ommendationa of bis Honor's message (73) relating to proceeds from sale of confiscated lands to be received from the General Government were agreed to. By an amended Bill power was given to the Superintendent to lease by private contract, for a period not exceeding a year, the Grammar School Reserves. The Act was brought down to meet some special cases. The Bill was put through its si ages aud passed. The Highway Bill was read a third time and passed. Mr Shechcin moved tl-e setting apart certain reserves in country districts for various public purposes. Mr Graham moved, and it was agreed to, " That an address be forw arded to the Superintendent, requesting him to urj;e on the Genoral Government the extension of the Telegraph from Waiuku to Port Waikalo. ' liib Honor dohvored the usual prorogation speech, and j the Council prorogued.
