'Jhe following are the insurances : — The Mosgirl Woollen Ftotory £2000 in the New Zculnnrl Insurance Company, £1000 in the Standard Insm»uee Company; Mr Reids stock, £500 in the New Zealand Insurance Company, £1000 in the South British, and £1000 in the Standard. There was great exciteduring the time of the fire. The Fire Brigade worked well. A nun.ber of buildings were threat 3nrd with destruction. Seventy thousand shaiesinthe new Colonial Bank bove been applied for in Otago and Southland alone.
