The Highways Bill was further considered m committee, and Purt 111., relating to the creation of Central Boards, was thrown out, on a division, by a majority of two, the nnmbers being 19 to 17. The Provincial Secretary intimated that he did not mtend to abandon Port IV., but to press for its adoption. The Municipal Corporation! Act Operation Bill was read a second time and passad through all its stages. A message was received from the Supenntendent, forwarding copy of a telegram received from the Hon Mr Vogel on the subject of Mr G. Y. Stewarts proposed special settlement | At 7 o'clock, the Provincial Treasurer made his Financial Statement, showing the estimated revenue to be £132,075 11s 8d , including a balance in the Treasury on 31st December, 1373, of £8,675 11s Bd, and the expenditure £129,036 3s 3d. Tho debate was adjourned until Friday next. Tluro will bo no evening sitting to-day m consequence of the Queen's Birthday ball.
