Tlie wheat market became firmer on receipt of advices fioni Melbourne, but material rise was checked by the dull Mnle of tha English, market. Stocks in second hands »re moderately high, several shipments hare gone forward to Auckland during the week, also one or tyro shipments trom Timtiru to S\ dney. The farmers are getting 4s Gd to 4s 8d ; the imlJers are giving latter prices for prune samples. Flour, £V>, sacks ; £12 10s, 1001b bags ; £13, 501b bags. Sharps, £2 10s- Bran and oatmeal much the same as last week.
