Messrs Hunter and Nolans Weekly Report :— lloreea : Ihere was un increased number entered for sale by auction, and although several were not brought forward, quite tho average number w ere submitted. There was aUo a little improvement in the stamjj, and prices were maintained, although some few were withdrawn for higher rates. Really good draught stock are enquired for, and young brood mares of this description would find purchasers. "We quote hacks from £9 to £15 5s ; light harness horses from £15 to £23. Cattle were in fuir supply. The dairy cows and giown stores were of very indifferent description, but young cattle were fairly represented. The fat beasts ex Go-ahead, from Wanganui, were well fatted, and with one or two exceptions, came to market in very good order, and met more spirited competition than the provincial fed. At the opening, bidding was rather languid, but as the tale proceeded became brisk and 20s per lOOlbs. was obtained for top sorts. We quote dairy cows, £7 to £9 ss ; yearlings and weanod calves, £1 7s to £2 12s 6d ; two-yiar-old steen, £1 each. Sheep : The Newmarket pens were well filled. The steers were of inferior description, and did not command attention. Ewes •old at 15s; ewe hmbi at 16s; fat sheep from 2s to 2s 6d per Slbs ; lambs, 16s to 18a. Pigs were scarce, but in brisk demand at 3d per lb. live weight.
