Napier, Wednesday. Fourth Inf'int.'y Match, 300 yards, ten shots —First pri7o, £10, Williams, Wniului. 33 points ; second, £6, Hoskins, Thames, 32 ; thiul, £1, Humphries, T.ir.m ilti, 30; fourtb, £3, PartingUui, Auckland, 30 ; fifth, £2, Parker, Wairoa.
Wellington, Wednesday. A telegram from the Agent-General dated London, March 6, states thai the following ships* with immigrants, tailed during February :— Veronn, for Canterbury, with 320; Atrnto, steamship, for CHago and Canterbury, with 770; Sebiebnllion. for- Napior, with 150 ; Havre, for Wellington, with 440; Fleming, and two otber vessels for Otago, with 770 ; Eoularell, for Auckland, with 3GO ; Bockonfield, for Canterbury, 470. Seventy-four vewels (sic) were to be diepatched during March and April. They were to bring amongst them 2-100 tons rails, 14 sets points, 7 turntables, and 108 pipes. The Agent-General adds to the above statement that the Atrato .had relurnod to Plymouth with her puton broken.
Chrisfcchurch, Wednesday. Montgomery and Pillicott are candidates to represent Akaroa m the General Assembly. Both are supporters Of the present Government. A voto of confidence in Montgomery was carried in each place except Akaroa, wher> there fclnrc were- only two dissentientsThe Wollmgton crow* are strong favorites for the Champion raco. A banquot will be givou to tbo usiting crews. Returns at tbo Customs yesterday reached £2887', the largest amount as yet.
