N. L JOSEPH, Dialer, Colonial Secretary's Office, Wellington, 22nd July, 1873. TN compliance with a Resolution of the House of Representative!, passed on the 22nd October, 1872 a Bonus ii hereby offered for the encouragement of certain Colonial Industries, namely :—: — IRON. Bonus oy £5,000.
For the production in New Zealand of 1,000 tons weight of Pig Iron of marketable quality. CONDITI' 'NS. 1. The bonus not to bo given for any quantity less than 100 ions. 2. Notice of tho intention io erect iron work« and claim the bonus must be giv.-n to the Colonial Secretury before 31st December, 1873. 3. Tha bonut must be claimed before the 30th June, 1875. 4. In the event of more than one claimant giving such notice, not more than beven-tentlis of tho bonus may be claimed by the first producer, and not more tliun three-tenths b\ the second producer; but :fonlv one claimant becomes a producer on the abo\e conditions, he may claim the whole of tho bonui. 5. The iron in respect of which any bonus is claimed will be examined by an officer to bo appointed by tho Government, who may require the \ roduction ot bond fide account sales of quantities not leas than 10 tons weight, showing that such iron has been sold at a lair market price as Pig Iron. For the production of 250 tons of Sut,'ar manufactured from Beetroot in New Zealand. Condi i ions. 1. Notiet of the intention to claim this bonus must be given to tho Colonial Secretary befere 31st December, 1873. 2. Claims for payment of tho bouus must be sent in before 30th June, 1875. 3. The bonui will be paid to the producer who first effects a bond fide sale of th* amount of sugar specified.
FISH. Bonus or 4s tek Cwt. This bonus will be paid on cured fish, drj or pickled, exported from the colony for consumption abroad. Conditions. 1. The bonus wi!l bo paid to the producer on the production of account sales showing that the fish has been •old out of the colony for fair market value. 2. The exporter to enter into a bond not lo reltind in the colony any fiuh on which a bonui has been paid. 3. The bonui may be claimed on all fish expoited between lit August, 1872, and ]«t November, 18 1 . be paid out of any moneys appropriated by Parliament for the purpose.
The above rewards will b. paid on the certificate of ai officer appointed by Government, that the conditions, applicable to each reward ha\e been complied with.
