TN compliance with ft Resolution of the House of Representatives, passed on the 22nd October, 1872 a Bonus is hereby offered for the encouragement of certain Colonial Industries, namely :—: — IRON. Bonvb of £5,000. For the production in .New Zealand of 1,000 tons weight j of Pig Iron of marketable quality. Conditions. 1. The bonus not to be given for any quantity less than 100 tons. 2. Notice of tho intention to erect iron works and claim the bonus must be given to the Colonial Secretary before 31»t December, 1873. 3. Tha bonus must be claimed before the 30th June, 1875. 4. In the event of more than one claimant giving such notice, not more tlmn seven-tenths of the bonus may be claimed by the first pioducer, und not more than three-tenths by the becoiid producer; but :f only one claimant becomes u producer on the above conditions, he may claim the whole of the bonus. 6. The iron in respect of which any bonus is claimed will be examined by an officer to be appointed by the Government, who may require tho production of bond fide account sale* of quantities not less than 10.3 tons weight, showing that such iron has been sold nt a lair market price as Pig Iron.

SUGAR. Bosr/s or £2,000. For the production of 250 tons of Sugar manufactured from Beetroot in New Zealand. Conditions. 1. Notiae of tho intention to claim this bonus liniot be given to tho Colonial Secretary before 31st Dewmbcr 1873. 2. Claims for payment of the bouus must be sent 111 before 30th June, 1875. 3. Tho bonus will be paid to (he producer who firot effects a bond fide sule of tho amount of sugar specifiod. FISH. Bonus of 4s vkk Gwt. This bonus will be paid on cured lish, dry or pickled, exported from tbe colonj lor consumption abroad. Conditions. 1.
