CORRESPONDENCE.

Wo do not IM-cess irily endorse tha opinions expressed by our correspondents.]

To the Editor oftho Waikato Times. Sir, — The time of year is fast approaching when the Waikato Agricultural Association held its last show at Cambridge. Before November comes round again cannot something be done to anulg.nnato the two Agricultural Ass.toi itioiu now existing m the district ? Surely the f.uue of last jear is not to be lepcated, both shows having been comparative failures, whilst there were sufficient exhibits to have ensured one good show. If only Wai- ' kato would wake up to its own interest, ami bring a little wholesome public opinion to bear on the subject, I fancy the desired cud could be consummated. If it is asked how ? I would suggest that the officers *nd committees of each Association should resign ; that a public meeting be called at Ohaupo, of which place no one seems jealous ; and that the whole question be discussed and fresh officers, &c, elected. The idea of such unanimity in Waikato may be Utopian, but at least it is worth agitating for. — I am, &c. , S. A. M. August, 1873.

To the Editor of the Waieato Times. Sir, — l>uring the winter a meeting of the Waikato Jockey Club was held at Hamilton, when there was, I am informed, some discnssion on i\ forming the club on a new basis, and providing for races during the ensuing summer. Both these questions were relegated to a future meeting. I would suggest that it is fully time some action was taken in the matter by tno3e who represent the committee of the old Waikato Jockey Club, and, at le*3t, that the members be called together to see what can be done. We have allowed one season to pass without races, and it is to be hoped it will be the last. — I am, &c., A Membeu oy the W. J. C.
