The Provisional Directors have ascertained the opinion of the Waikato Settlers on u the subject, and have been promised an almost unanimous support. As the name of the Company implies, it is the intention to niako it principally a settler's undertaking, aad with that view, the Company is to be formed in £1 shares, so that all., residents may be able to join, thereby securing to the Company the whole of the river traffic, and consequently, to themselves a remunerative investment. The Directors anticipate that the Shares will bo fully subscribed for, and operations commenced within six months aud that "not more than 10s. per share will be called up satisfactory banking arrangements having been made. It is proposed to build a powerful steamer suitable for ho requirements of the river, at an estimated cost of £500 C ; also teveral barges and Goods' Depdts. Arrangements have been made for a supply of Coal at Ralph's Mine, nt the rate of 10s. per ton, for a term of years. The Waikato Flax Company are willing to run their steamer, now being built, m connection with the Company, or if desirable, amalgamate the same with it. The Office of tho Company is to be in Auckland, with a Manager in Waikato, under the direction of a Local Committee.
