Tauranga, Friduj. The Napier coacli, with four greys, drow-up at 3.50 this afternoon, with an immense cavalcade of settlers, which accompanied it. There was a decorated arch at the entrance of the town ; and there will be a splendid banquet to-night m honor of the occasion.
Wellington, Friday. A deputation from the Grey Coal Company has waited on the Minister of Public Works to-day, urging certain modifications in lease of the coal mines, which hare been granted. Tenders for the sleepers of the Brunner Bail way will be invited shortly. The specifications are nearly ready. The Wellington prices current states that the Wellington preserved meats are highly successful. The Iron-rand Company are preparing for operations. Stocks in bond little altered. Teas and sugars reduced, brandies increased, exchanges unaltered ; discount reduced half per cent. Stocks of kerosene low j 1600 cases to arrive per Horatio Sprague ; 2500 by the Skimmer of the Waves. Hennessy's icareo at 30a. Flour - Stocks heavy, sales light, No probability of a rise. Oats weli supplied, 5b to 5s 6J.
Saturdny. The Government' have arranged with Messrs McMeclion, Bluckwood and Co., for a six months' sorvico each way to connect with tho P. and O. Company's mail boats at Melbourne. The contract boat is to leave Melbourne immediately after arrival of mail, proceeding to llokitikn, thence to Nelson, Wellington, Lyttelton, Port Chalmers and BluiF. Time to be eight days to Wellington, ten to Lyttelton, .eleven to Port Chalmers; but, practically, whenever elenmer arrives ot Wellington early on the eighth day, she will reach Port Chajmers on the tenth day. The outward mail will be conveyed to Melbourne in twelve days from Dunedin, eleven from Lyttelton, nino from Wellington, six and a-half from Hokitika. The steamer Paterson ii to convey from Nelson inward maita for New Plymouth and Auckland, and convey outward mails from thoio places to Nelson, the time from Melbourne to Manukau to be nine days. Excess in latter case is for Manukau bar and prevailing westerly winds. Tho service will be commenced in Melbourne on arrival of Iho English mail due tbero on tho Bth instant, and at Dunedin for outward mails on Ist August.
