[ The Provisional Directors have ascertained the opinion of tho Waikato Settlers on tho subject, and have been promised an almost unanimous support. As tho name of tho Company implies, it is the intention to inako it principally a settler's undertaking, aad with that view, the Company is to be formed in £1 shares, so that all residents may be able to join, thereby bccurmg to the Company the wholo of tho river traffic, and consequently, to themsehes a remunerative investment. The Directors anticipate that the Shares will be fully subscribed for, and operatious.commcnccd withmsix months and that^not moro than 10s. per share will bo called up satisfactory bauking arrangements having been made. It is proposed to build a powerful steamer suitable for ho requirements of tho river, at an estimated cost of £5000 ; also several barges und Goods' Depots. Arrangements have been made for a supply of Coal at Ralph's Mine, at the rato of 10a. per ton, for a term of j ears. The Waikato Flax Company are willing to run their steamer, now being built, in connection with tho Company, ' or if desirable, amalgamate the name with it. Tho Oilico of tho Company i« to be in Auckland, with a Manager in Waikato, under tho direction of a Locul Comtuittee.
