THE object of the Company is to provide regular aud speedy Steam Communication on tho Waikato River i to supply a want §o long and universally felt in the District. The Provisional Directors have ascertained the opinion of tho Waikato Settlers on the subject, and have been promised an almost unanimous support. As tho namo of the Company implies, it is tho intention to mako it principally a settler's undertaking, and with that view, the Company is to be formed in £1 shares, so th»*t all residents may be able to join, thereby securing to tho Company tho whole of tho river traffic, and consequently, to themselves a remunerative investment. The Directors anticipate that the Shares will bo fully subscribed for, and operations commenced withm six months and that not moro than 10s. per share Mill bo called up satisfactory banking arrangements having been made. Ik* 18 . proposed to build a powerful steamer suitable for ho requirements of tho river, at an estimated cost of £5001 ; also several barges and Goods' Depots. Arrangements , have been made for a supply of Coal at RALru's Mine, at the rate of 10a. per tou, for a term of years. Tho Waikato Flax Company are willing to run their iteanier, now being built, in connection with the Company, or if desirable, amalgamate the same with it. Tho Office of tho Company is to be in Auckland, with a Manager in Waikato, under tho direction of a Local Committee.
