CORRESPONDENCE. [We do not necessarily endoise the opinions expressed by our correspondents.]

To the Editor of the Waikato Times. SiRt — There seems to be a disposition to let the murder of Sullivan pass over in the same way as that of Todd and others. I hope the Wail*a,to settlers do not harbour any such feelings as that. Are t'ney satisfied with the action of the Government in this matter ? Where are the gentlemen who were appointed a committee to watch the course of events ? I hope they will do their duty. Nothing shore of hanging PnruLutu and friends ought to satisfy us. Whatever we do or say, let us be unjted. — I am, &c., Settles. Cambridge, June 1,9, 1873.

To the Editor of tbe Waikato Times. Sir,— To do justly, to execute justice and judgment, and to work righteousness, are great principles laid down in the Book which we call " Holy." The aim of all laws should be to maintain and uphold the right. Allow me to say that the sole object of my former letter was to elicit a response to my enquiries, and to ascertain the truth. I will not dwell upon an unwelcome subject. Convinced as lam that there 13 great need of a rerision of our Maori legislation, I am equally convinced that murder 13 a crime— a crime to bo punished by the judges, and that » whoso sheddeth man's blood (wilfully) by man shall hia blood be shed."— l am, <tc. J. F. Mandeno. Te Awamutu, June 20, 1873.
