John Roberts was brought up charged with having caused the death of a native of India known bj the name of Gcoy. It appears that Roberts knocked deceased down and afterwards stamped on him. Death was almost instantaneous. An inquest is being held. Much indignation i 3 expressed at the conduct of directors in closing mines to the Pi ess and the public. The Tokatea is closed, a swindle is in censequence considered likely.
