Alteration of Advertisement. New Zealand Telegraph. TENDERS are invited for tiie Supply and Delivery of Seven Hundred and Fifty (750) Telegraph Posts (more or less/, for the construction of a line of Telegraph between Cambridge and Alexandra, both in the Province of Auckland. The route of the line will be from Cambridge to Douglas and Walker's Station ; thence across the Moanatuatua Swamp to Rangiohia ; thence to Kihikihi ; thence to Te Awnmutu ; and thence by the Lower or Punui Road to Alexandra. N.B. — Any Post containing the least sap will be rejected, and all posts laid on tho line and afterwards found in any manner defective, or not in accordance with the specification, will be cut into two pieces by the Examining Officer. The Posts to be dcln ered along the line at points to bo ndicated by an Officer appointed by the Government. The major portion of the posts to be twenty (20) feet in length ; but sonic will be required twenty-five (25) feet long to bo laid at points as indicated. Posts of both the above lengths to bo eight (8) inches square at the butt, and tapered to six (6) inches square at the top. The whole of the Posts to be delivered within three (3) calendar months of the date of acceptance of tender, under a penalty of five pounds (£5) to be paid for every working day the contract is not completed after that date. Tenders to state separately and distinctly the price per post according to the sues given. Each tender to be accompanied by a deposit of twenty pounds (£2O) as a guarantee of good faith, which sum will be forfeited to the Government should any tenderer refuse to enter into or sign a contract in the event of his tender being accepted. Each tenderer must submit for approval the names of two (2) sureties willing to enter into a bond for the due performance of the contract in the event of his tender being accepted, and each of the persons so named must enclose a notification (in the tender) of their willingness to accept the responsibility. Specifications may be seen, and further particulars obtained at the Telegraph OUice, Auckland. Tenders marked, " Tenders for Telegraph Posts between Cambridge and Alexandra," to be addressed to the undersigned, at the Telegraph Office, Auckland, will be received up to, and not later than Noon on MONDAY, the 16th June, 1873.
