LATEST COROMANDEL NEWS. Coromandel, Monday, & p.m.
The opening service in the new Presbyterian church wa3 conducted jesterday, by tha Rev James Hill, of the Thames, who gave a suitable and telling sermon. There was a crowded congregation, and a good collection made. The opening buirw, which wasennouncod for to-morrow evening was held at the Ooroinandel Hall this evening, to meet the convenience of beveral clergymen from the Thames, Auckland, and other plaivs, who desired to return to their respective districts by the steamer Royal Alfred to-morrow. The attendance was large, and the hall was very prettily decorated. The teatables were supplied with a choice collection of the usual supplies provided upon such occasions,, and the following ladies presided : — Mesdames R. Kelly, McGregor, King, Rosie, P. Reed, Miss Gilmour ; and other willing lady ay bislants. Mr Errington, of the United Pumping Association Works, Grahamstown, has been* visiting the principal mining'workings in the Coromandel district, in company with Mr George Black, one of our resident mining engineers.
