The Posts to be sawn from tio heart of kauri, to be perfectly sound, straight, an I iijj from sap, loose knots, shake, speckle-s, and all otlie. defects. N.B — Any Post containing the least stp will be rejected, and all posts laid on the hue and afterwards found in auj manner defective, or not in accordance with the specification, will be cut into iwo pieces by the Examining Officer. The Posts to bo delivered along tho line at points to be ndicated by an Officer appointed by the Government. The major portion of the posts to be twenty (20) feet in length ; but some will bo required twenty-five (25) feet long) to be laid at poiuts as indicated. Posts of both the above lengths to be eight (8) inches scjuare >*t the butt, and tapered to six {6) inches scjxi iro at the top. The w hole of tho Posts to bo delivered within three (3) calendar nionthb of the date of acceptance of tender, under a penalty of live pounds (£5) to be paid for every working day the contract is not completed after that date. Tenders to state separately and distinctly the price per post according to the sizes given. Each tender to be accompanied by a deposit of twenty pounds (£2O) as a guarantee of good faith, which sum will be forfeited to the Government should any tenderer refuse to enter into or sign a contract in the emit of his tender being accepted. Eacn tenderer must submit for approval the names of two (2) sureties willing to enter into a bond for the clue performance of the contract in the event of his tender being accepted, and each of the persons so named must enclose ti notification (in the tender) of their willingness to accept the responsibility. Specifications may be seen, and further particulars obtained at the Telegraph Oflice, Auckland. Tenders marked, " Tenders for Telegraph Posts between Cambridge and Alexandra," to be addressed to the undersigned, at the Telegraph Office, Auckland, will be received up to, and not later than Noon on TUESDAY, tho 3rd June, 1873. Notice to Maoris. /^\N and after this date no persons of the Native Race w ill be allowed to travel on tho roads, or wander about within any of tho townships within the district of Waikato between the hours of 7 p.m. and 7 am. And no person of the Native Race will bo permitted Lo cross the bridges at Cambridge and Alexandra, and the ferries at Hamilton and Ngaruawahia, during the &amo hours. All Officers of the Armed Constabulary and Volunteers arc required to strict 1) enforco this regulation.
