Issue of £250,003 New Zealand G-vjrn ment Debentures in New Zealand.
Treasury, Wellington, Bth April, 1873. TENDERS areinvitedforthe purchase of the whole or any portion of l'uo Hundred and Fifty Thousand Pounds New Zealand Government Debentures, issued under the Acts oi the Legislature of the Colony, entitled •' The Immigration and Public Works Loan Act, 1870," and " The Defence and Other Purposes Loan Act, 1870," subject to the under-mentioned conditions :—: —
1. The Debentures will be payable to Bearer and will be issued m bums of not less than One Hundred Pounds each. 2. The Debentures, which are secured on the Consolidated Revenue of the Colony, will bear interest nt thr rate of 4 per cent, per annum, payable halt-yearly, on the 15th day of April and the loth day ol October in each .year, at the Bank of New Zealand at Auckland, New Plymouth, Wellington, Napier, Nelson, Blenheim, Christchurch, Greymouth, Hokitika, Dunedin, or lnvergargill. 3. The principal sum w ill be payable on the 15th day ot April, 1913, at the Treasury at Wellington, or at any branch of the Bank of New Zealand, in New Zealand, at the option of the holder, six months' notice being required previous to maturity, of the | place at which payment will be required. 4. Tenders will be opened at the Treasury at Wellington at noon on Friday, the ninth day of May next, m the pieseuee of such of the tenderers as dcsiro to be present — -the minimum price under seal being first placed on tho table. In the event ot equal tenders being received for a sum in execsg ot the issue, a pro rata distribution will be made. 0. The amount tendered for must be paid at the Treasury at Wellington, as under :—: — 5 per cent accompanying application ; * the balance on or bciore the 16th May, 1873. Or at the option of the purchasers :—: — 5 per cent on application. 20 per cent in one month, ~\ 23 per cent in two months, f with accrued 25 per cent in three months, i interest. 25 per cent in iour months. J ""* * Purchasers electing to paj balance within a week will be entitled to interest from tho 15th day ot April. On payment of the final instalment, Debentures signed by the Agents appointed undci the respective Acts, will be delncred to purchasers or their nominees. Half per cent brokerage will be allowed to brokers through whose applications aales arc cflected. Applications by telegraph, received not later than 10 o'clock on tho 9th May, will be accepted, provided they arc accompanied by a telegram from tho Manager ot any Branch or Agency of tlie Bank of New Zealand, notifying that the necessary deposit has been paid into the Bank ot New Zea1 and, to the credit of a Loan Deposit Account. Colonial Secretary's Office, Wellington, 18th November, 1872. IN compliance witn a Resolution of the House of Repreoentatives, passed on 22nd October, 1872, a Bonus is hereby ollered for the encouragement ot certain Colonial Industries, namely ;—; — IRON. Bonus of £5,000. For the production in New Zealand of 1,000 tons weight of Pig Iron, of Marketable quality. Conditions. 1. The bonus not to be gu en for any quantity less than 100 tons. 2. Notice of the intention to erect Iron Works and claim fhe bonus must be given to the Colonial becrctary beibic the 31st December, 1873. 3. The bonus must be claimed before the 30th June 1875. 4. In the event of more than one claimant giving such notice, not more than seven-tenths of the bonus may bo claimed by tho first producer, and not more than threetenths by the second producer ; but if only one claimant becomes a producer on the above conditions, he may claim tho whole ot the bonus. 5. The Iron in respect of which any bonus is claimed will bo examined by au officer to be appointed by the Government who may require tho production of bona Jido account bales of quantities not less than 100 tons weight, showing that such Iron has been sold at u fair market price as Pig Iron.
STEEL. Bonds of £1,000. For the production in New Zealand of 100 tons weight of marketable Steel from Magnetic or Tituniferous Iron Sand or Iron Ore. Conditions. 1. Notice must be given to tho Colonial Secretary of the intention to claim this bonus before the 30th June, 1873. 2. The claim for payment of the bonus must be made beforo 30th June, 1874 3. The bonus will be paid to the producer who cfl'cct* the first bona fide sale ot the above quantity of Steel at a fair market price.
SUGAR. Boxes of £2,000. For the production of 250 tons of Sugar manufactured from Beetroot in New Zealand.
Conditions. 1. Notice of the intention to claim this bonus must, be given to the Colonial Secretary belore 31st December, 1873. 2. Claims for payment of tho bonus to be sent in before 30th June, 1875. 3. The bonus will be paid to the producer who first ellects a buna fide sale of the amount of Sugar specified.
PAPER. Boat's or i.%500. For the production of 100 tons of Printing Paper, manufactured in New Zealand by Machinery .
Conditions. 1. Notice of the intention to claim this bonus must be given to tho Colonial Secretary before 31st January, 1873. 2. Tho Paper must be made by machinery , permanently established and working in tlie Colony. 3. Claims for pay menL of the bonus must bo sent iv beforo 31st December, 187 i. 4. Tho bonus will be paid to the producer who effects the first bona fide bale of tho amount of Printing Paper specified.
FISH. Bonus of 4s>. vvai C'wr. This bonus will be be paid on Cured Fish, dry or pickled exported from tho colony for consumption abroad.
Cuiidilions. 1. The bonus will bo paid to the producer on tho production of account salei showing that the Fish has been sold out of the Colony lor fair market value. 2. The exporter to enter into a bond not to reland in the Colony any Fish on which a bonus has been paid. 3. The bonus may be claimed on all Fish exported be tvveen Ist November, 1872, and Ist November, 1879., and in lobe paid out of all moneys appropriated for that purpose.
The above rewards will bo paid ou the certificate of an officer appointed by Government that the conditions applicable to euch ic«avd lu\o been complied with. JOHN UALL.
