IN compliance with a Resolution of the House of Representatives, passed on 22nd October, 1872, a Bonua is hereby olleiod for the encouragement of certain Colonial Industries, namely . — IRON. Bonus of £5,000. For the production in New Zealand of 1,000 tons weight of Pig Iron, of Marketable quality. ° Conditions. 1. The bonus not to be given foi- any quantity less than 100 tons. J 2. Notice of the intention to erect Iron AVorks and claim the bonus must be given to the Colonial Secretary before tlic 31st December, 1573. 3 The bonus must be claimed before tho 30th June 1875. <1 In tho event of more than one cluinumt giving such notice, not more tluin seven-tenths of the bonus m°ay be j claimed by the first producer, and not more than threetenths by the second producer ; but if only one claimant becomes a producer on tho abovo conditions, he may claim the whole of tho bonus. 5. The Iron m respect of which any bonus is claimed will bo examined by an officer to be appointed by the Government who may requu-e tho production of hona Jide account sales ot quantities not less than 10U tons weight, showni" that such Iron has been sold at a fair market price a? IV Iron.
STEEL, Bonus of £1,000. For the production in New Zealand of 100 tons weight of nut kctable Steel irom Magnetic or Tilamfcrous Iron" Sand or Iron Ore. Conditions. 1. Notice- niii^t bo given to the Colonial Secretary of the intention to daim this bonus before the 30th June, 1873. 22. The claim for payment of the bonus must be made beforo 30th June, 1874. 3. The bonus will be paid to the producer who effects the flrat buna fide bale of the übovc quantity of Steel at a fair market price.
SUGAR. Bonus op £2,000. For the production of 250 tons of Sugar manufactured from Beetroot m New Zealand. Conditions. 1. Notice of the intention to claim this bonus must be given to the Colonial Secretary bclore 31st December, 1873. 2. Claims for payment of tho bonus to be sent in before 30th June, 1875. 3. The bonus will bo paid to the producer who first effects a honafide sale of tho amount of Sugar bpecified.
PAPER. Bonus of £2,500. For the production of 100 tons of Printing Paper, manufactured in New Zealand by Machinery. Conditions. 1. Notice of the intention to claim this bouus must bo given to tlic Colonial Secretary before 31st January, 1873. 2. Tho Papor must, bo made by machinery, permanently established and working in the Colony. 3. Claims for payment of the bonus must be sent in before 31st December, 1874. 4. The bonus will bo paid to the producer who effects the first honafide Bale of the amount of Printing Paper specified.
FISH. Bonus of 4s. pub Cwt. This bonus ■» ill bo be paid on Cared Fißh, dry or pickled, exported from the colony for consumption abroad. Conditions. 1 The bonus will bo paid to tho producer on tho production of account sales showing that tho Fish has been sold , out of the Colony lor fair market value. 2. The exporter to enter into a bond not to reland in tho Colony any Fish on which a bonus Im3 been paid. 3. The bonus may be claimed on all Fish exported be lv\eon M November, 1872, and Ist November, 1870., and is to be paid out of all moneys appropriated for that purpose.
The above rewards will bo paid on the certificate of an ollicer appointed by Government that the conditions applicable to each reward havo been complied with. JOHN HAIL.
