Ihe- first meeting of the inhabitants m connection with tic appointment of a committee m accordance with tlO provisions of the- Education Act, 1872, took place to-day, and was vkII attended. Mr Eusebius Wilson wa» voted to the chair. After a good deal of discussion, and the proposing of 18 gentlemen as a s hool committee, the chairnmm declared that Messrs Alexander Aitken, E. Wilson, F. Woolliims, Timothy Kcarr, and Uriah Glover were duly elected. The customary compliment to the chairman terminated the proceeding*.
